This past Sunday’s LOOK Section of the NY Times Magazine features Martin Klimas‘ newest photo project, aptly dubbed Painting With Sound. Using vibrant paints, speakers, music from the likes of Kraftwerk, Miles Davis & Steve Reich, and a Hasselblad, Klimas captures visually articulated patterns in the music and answers the question “What does music look like”? His work reminds me of the beautiful short film by The Selby featuring deaf performance artist Christine Sun King’s Sonic Experiments. Check it all out below.

So cool! You should also check out the classical composer Tom Ades, who writes music and adds video components to some of his pieces, like “In Seven Days” or “Polaris”.
Really great stuff, thanks for sharing.
