I just learned of the passing of Eva Zeisel, designer, potter, creator of the Department of Ceramic Arts Industrial Design at Pratt Institute and self proclaimed “maker of useful things”. I’ve been dining on her Classic Century Dinnerware, originally produced in 1952 and later reissued by Crate and Barrel, since I got married back in 2005. She was 105 and always an inspiration. Thank you Eva!

What an astonishing woman she was. Thanks for paying tribute to her!
When you look at her life’s work, and really think about the time, and what she was up against, it is truly amazing.
Her work is so earthy, gorgeous. Your new blog looks amazing!
